District Resources and Links
There are five southern Alberta school districts listed below. Scroll down to find yours, where there are links, information and contacts for the behavior support team of that district. Each district has different names, systems and protocols when seeking support from specialists in classrooms, based on funding and district organization.
When seeking help from specialists for your students, administration is and should be part of the process. In many cases, schools take a collaborative approach to this process. Administration would likely know the appropriate person to contact. Albeit, it is important for teachers to be aware of the resources available to them and their students.
*After connecting with each of these districts, I learned that some districts do not list the direct contact information for specific team members in order to preserve a referral protocol. For example, in Holyspirit, teachers and parents consult with the Inclusive Education Liaison (the associate principal), who then requests for a behavior specialist to visit the school.
